A century after his birth in Rosine, Kentucky, the music genre created by Bill Monroe, the Father of Bluegrass Music, is now established globally and was enjoyed by tens of millions who celebrated The Bill Monroe Centennial in 2011.

The Bill Monroe 100th Birthday Celebration was a yearlong commemoration of Bluegrass music and its history, and a lively observance of the profound influence Bluegrass has had on the music world and the lives of folks across the globe.
